Tax Collection
Weddington residents pay both city and county property taxes. You will receive separate bills. If your taxes are escrowed through your mortgage you will not receive a copy of the bill. Taxes are billed annually and are mailed the end of July. Taxes are due on September 1 and payable without penalty until January 5. On January 6, unpaid taxes will be assessed a penalty of 2%, and .75% on the first of every month the tax remains unpaid. The current tax rate is 5.2 cents per $100 in valuation.
